AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
WHEREAS, the State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation Improvement Program both provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital improvements to public infrastructure; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need to improve the delivery of water to the downtown section of the City through the Downtown Waterline Replacement Phase I; and,
WHEREAS, the infrastructure improvement herein above described is considered a prioroity need for the community and has been approved for funding through the District 6 Public Works Integrating Committee.
WHEREAS, the capital improvements have a total estimated project cost of $417,800 with the entire amount being provided through an OPWC loan.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORTLAND, OHIO:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Cortland does hereby authorize the Mayor of the City of Cortland to place his signature on the application with the Ohio Public Works Commission for the City of Cortland's Downtown Waterline Replacement – Phase I.
Section 2. That the Council of the City of Cortland does hereby authorize the payment of an interest free twenty (20) year loan in the amount of $417,800.00 under the Ohio Public Works Commission.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force as early as allowed by law.
